My Story: Passion, Expertise, and a Client-Centered Approach
From a young age, I've been fascinated by the intricacies of communication and the profound impact it has on our lives. This curiosity led me to a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from Baylor University, graduating Magna cum Laude. It was here that I began to understand the complex interplay between the brain and our ability to connect with the world around us. My journey continued at the University of Texas at Dallas, where I earned my Master's Degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders with a 4.0 GPA, solidifying my commitment to the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
Credentials That Speak Volumes
My academic foundation is complemented by robust professional credentials. I hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology and am a licensed SLP in Texas and North Carolina. My experience spans diverse environments, from early intervention in home settings to school-based teletherapy and general education inclusion. This breadth of experience, coupled with my proficiency in both English and intermediate Spanish, allows me to serve a wide range of individuals and families.Â
My Approach: Tailored, Engaging, and Results-Driven
My approach to speech-language pathology is rooted in a passion for solving complex problems and creating effective solutions. I believe every individual's communication journey is unique, and therapy should be just as personalized. Whether working with K-5 students on articulation, guiding teenagers through advanced reasoning training, or supporting young children in early intervention, my core philosophy remains constant:
Client-Centered Care: Each session is meticulously tailored to individual needs, fostering a supportive and engaging environment where clients feel heard and understood. My commitment to clear communication and active listening ensures that therapy is always relevant and meaningful.
Holistic Problem Solving: I don't just address symptoms; I delve into the underlying challenges. My experience with diverse disabilities, including Down Syndrome, speech impairment, and motor impairment, has honed my ability to assess complex issues, break them down, and implement strategic, measurable approaches.
Collaborative Partnership: I firmly believe in the power of collaboration. Working closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and colleagues is paramount to ensuring continuity of services and achieving the best possible outcomes. Connecting families with essential resources is also a key part of my commitment to their overall well-being.
Adaptability and Innovation: My experience in teletherapy, serving over 90 students virtually, and my proactive step to learn Spanish to better serve bilingual students, highlights my dedication to adapting to evolving needs and embracing innovative service delivery models. I am driven to expand skill sets and find new ways to connect and achieve progress.
My goal is to empower individuals to communicate effectively, confidently, and joyfully, enabling them to thrive in all aspects of their lives. I am excited to bring this blend of expertise, empathy, and strategic problem-solving to every client I serve.
